The game says I'm level 9. I got there by getting 17500 xp. My skill caps are 9/13, not 7/10. So the current table is wrong, but I don't know how to fix it. Are the levels all just 1 farther than they should be? Maybe. I don't know what all the xp requirements were for previous levels. 98.250.55.52 03:12, June 3, 2010 (UTC)

These numbers were all pulled from a config file, not from in-game viewing. As for the meaning of "XP" and "Level", the table is supposed to read as follows: if you are level 1, you should see "X / 1500" on your character sheet, as well as having all skills capped at 4. If you are level 9, you should see "X / 17500" on the character sheet. Since I won't be able to play for a few days, can you tell me what you are seeing in-game? Sheltim 13:57, June 3, 2010 (UTC)
I was seeing Level 9, 17850 / X, with skills capped at 9/13. I'm now at 13 with 27105 / 29500. I'm guessing the skill caps will go up at 14. But I'm still not sure where the discrepancy is. Maybe you start at level 0 or something? I don't know. I'll try to check later. 98.250.55.52 20:50, June 3, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, you start at 0. (The ip is me.) Pyrthas 13:54, June 4, 2010 (UTC)
And the cap at 0 is 5. Can't test the special cap, obviously. Pyrthas 14:01, June 4, 2010 (UTC)

Some Fun With Math I wanted to pass along to ya'll:
Before specialization, there are a grand total of 400 skill points needed to get everything. If you choose the most expensive specials, (stealth and 2 weapons) it jumps to 480. If you choose the cheapest specials (Sabotage, Technical, and Toughness or Martial Arts) it is only 450. Even as a Veteran, you can't get anywhere near that. A "normal" class will get a total of 230 AP (not counting Perk bonuses), a Recruit will get 200 (although you could say 210 because the recruit can get 2 Perks no-one else can) and a Veteran will get 320.
However, there's some wiggle room. Let's say you decide on two weapons you like, and ignore the other two. (I go all the way, and just use the pistol the whole game). Then, you only need 350-380 total AP (Following the one-weapon route, the max you need is only 300-325) -- which a Veteran can get damn near close to. According to the wiki (as of June 15, 2010) there are 29 AP points you can get as bonuses (not counting Thorton, Inc, which apparently doesn't work, and the 10 from Rookie conversations). That means you can get a grand total of 349 AP -- You can never, in this whole game, run out of things to get. (Unless you do the one-weapon and that doesn't count -- you carry two guns, and the game expects you to use them.)

Hope this all helps, or at least doesn't confuse even more. 97.121.181.207 18:00, June 15, 2010 (UTC)
