Weapons[]

When it comes to fully automatic ballistic mayhem, accept nothing less. Used in pairs, the submachine guns offer a stream of bullets that generates recoil and injury in equal doses. Accurate only in short bursts, the SMG is ideal at short and medium range versus multiple targets.

Skills[]

Levels of SMG skill increase damage and recoil control (reducing the inaccuracy of constant firing). Advanced levels unlock stronger bonuses for critical streaks and the ability to fire without reloading for brief periods of time.

Rank Name Notes
1 Improved SMG Critical Hit (Basic) Successive hits with a submachine gun start a Critical Hit Streak. As more hits pile up, a growing damage multiplier adds some extra kick to successive shots. This damage bonus remains until Mike reloads or too much time passes since the last hit. This ability increases the damage multiplier and the time allowed to keep a Critical Hit Streak going.

Damage Multiplier: 15% (Default is 10%)

Maximum Time Allowed Between Hits to Maintain Streak: 6 seconds

2 SMG Proficiency (Basic) Recoil Control: +2

Accuracy: +2

3 Bullet Storm (Basic) Temporarily removes the need to reload - effectively setting the Magazine size to an infinite value for the ability's duration. When Bullet Storm expires, the Submachine Guns are emptied - regardless of how much ammunition was in them previously. This ability can only be used with the SMGs equipped.

Duration: 4 seconds

Cooldown: 60 seconds

4 SMG Proficiency (Trained) Damage: +3
5 Improved SMG Critical Hit (Advanced) Damage Multiplier: 15%

Maximum Time Allowed Between Hits to Maintain Streak: 12 seconds

6 Armed and Dangerous (SMG) This ability allows Mike to carry twice his normal allotment of submachine gun ammunition into the field.
7 Bullet Storm (Advanced) Duration: 8 seconds

Cooldown: 45 seconds

8 SMG Proficiency (Expert) Recoil Control: +2 (+4 Total)

Accuracy: +2 (+4 Total)

9 Rapid Reload (SMG) With the Rapid Reload ability, Mike can swap out submachine gun clips (whether to switch ammo types or reload more of the same) in a fraction of the time it would normally take.
10 Bullet Storm (Expert) Duration: 12 seconds

Cooldown: 45 seconds

11 SMG Proficiency (Expert) Recoil Control: +2 (+6 Total)

Accuracy: +2 (+6 Total)

12 Improved SMG Critical Hit (Expert) Damage Multiplier: 15%

Submachine Guns are a type of weaponry available in Alpha Protocol. Like pistols, they don't pack much punch, but they fire very rapidly. Being a fully automatic type of weapon that has a fast rate of fire, SMGs are perfect for clearing rooms. Upgrading its associated skill from the skill menu will increase all SMG's damage and lessen the amount of recoil. Thorton always dual-wields these weapons. The SMG models are all based on real-life firearms but with different names, the names of their manufacturer determines which model is used, these are:

MP7 - Hamilton SMGs

AKS-74U (albeit a very heavily modified version if it is one) - Ural Combinat SMGs

MP5K - Rittergruppen SMGs

Uzi - Samael SMGs
