Weapon[]

The final word in non-negotiate brutality. the shotgun packs a deadly punch at close range but becomes effectively useless at long range as the cloud of projectiles that it fires spread thin. Aside from its short range, the shotgun has a slow rate of fire and hefty recoil, but its damage and stability when firing on the move makes it invaluable in room to room combat.

Skills[]

Shotgun skill increases damage and recoil control. High levels of skill improve critical hits (making it easier to knock down opponents) and open up the ability to fire devastating multi-shot volleys.

2 Improved Shotgun Critical Hit (Basic) Mike can brace the Shotgun for a knockdown shot. The time it takes to ready a knockdown shot decreases with each level of Improved Shotgun Critical Hit.

Time to Ready Critical Hit: 3 seconds (Default is 4 seconds)

3 Room Sweep (Basic) Temporarily enhances the deadliness of the Shotgun - increasing the rate of fire and making every shot a Critical Hit knockdown shot. The ability can only be used when a shotgun is equipped.

Duration: 5 seconds

Cooldown: 60 seconds

4 Shotgun Proficiency (Trained) Damage: +3
5 Armed and Dangerous (Shotgun) This allows Mike to carry twice his normal allotment of shotgun ammunition into the field.
6 Rapid Reload (Basic) With this ability, Mike loads multiple cartridges into the shotgun magazine with each reloading action he takes.

Weapon[]

Shotguns are a type of weaponry available in Alpha Protocol. Shotguns are a very powerful weapon in Mike's arsenal, killing most hostiles with one or two shots. However, they have several disadvantages: short range, long reload times, and a strong recoil. But if you want a quick kill, they are the way to go. Shotguns can sometimes knock enemies off of their feet. Three groups of shotguns featured are clearly based on the Benelli M3 (with a stock from the newer M4 model,) the SPAS-12, and the Remmington 870 (with M4-style stock and Pictanny rail system.) The UC shotguns are probably based on the Russian Saiga-12 (without the box magazine), which is a shotgun derived from the Kalashnikov design.
